Bell Ringer:

Today we watched a short video to introduce our next unit and what we'll be talking about for the unit.
You can view the video here.
You will need to answer questions about the video. You can find the questions here to download or find them in the past assignments file by the light box in class.
Basically, for this next unit we'll be talking about the sometimes more lucrative side of illustration: licensing. We'll be talking about textile & pattern design, fashion illustration, licensing, etc. Basically things you can sell in mass to make you money. When entering into this field, and any field for that matter, it's important to think about where you're getting your ideas and how you're using them.
Today we talked about appropriation.
Here is the outline for the day:
On the Drake Hotline Bling video only watch these clips:
:20-45
1:00-1:30
3:15-4:07
There were two assignments for today:
Austin Kleon "Steal Like an Artist" readings and questions, found on Google Classroom. Turn in by the end of class to Google Classroom.
Art Assignment: Create a drawing or multiple drawings on a white piece of paper. Your drawing(s) should be based on the answer from your tag (Refer to last blog post about Barbara Kruger). Keep your tag and drawing in your folder.
